Sometimes its just nice to be able to sit in a lovely area of the garden and say hello to a loved one. Our designs are developed with your loved one in mind. We chat about their likes and dislikes in the planting world and we can produce a unique planting plan just for them. Even if they didn’t really know alot about gardening we can hand select plants that reflect their life and their personalities.
If you would like a planting plan for a beloved pet we can also talk about their personality and find the plants that will remind you of them.
There are a few options to see how this works. Option 1 is that we would send you the plan for you to put in place. Option 2 is that we would source the plants and have them sent to you. Option 3 is we buy the plants and install them as well.
An example of a recent garden was for;
A lady called Marguerite who passed away 19 years ago. Her daughter wanted a garden she could go to for a chat with her mother. Her mother was buried overseas which meant she didn’t get to visit the grave very often. The plant plan was a selection of roses and underplanting in a sunny position. These included; The ‘Marguerite Hilling rose’ which is pink in colour and has an arching habit so a arch was recommended to allow the rose to arch over it and the ‘Remembrance’ red rose with a bushy habit (Marguerite’s favourite colour) also included was the ‘Cardinal Hume’ red rose as she met him many times. The underplanting i.e. the plants under the roses, were a selection of the yellow and green of the Alchemellia Mollis and the purple spikes of the Salvia x sylvestris again both plants were Marguerite’s favourite. These plants give wonderful colour for most of the year, dying back in the winter. The plan itself has a bench in the centre so Marguerite’s daughter can sit and say hi with the wonderful scent of the roses around her. In front and around the flower beds are small gravel stones. These not only look good but also they help in reducing the amount of weeds that come through.
